June 23, 2011 "America - Our Homeland"

If you have been following us for the past 3 or 4 months, you already know that we have visited many of the historical sites that helped form our great nation; some inspiring, others devastating. But the one common thread was they are what shaped and formed our homeland.

During our journey, CC and I have witnessed a vast amount of knowledge, history, geography and had human interaction with persons of different cultures and socio-economic backgrounds. While this blog is in no way a political statement or platform, in keeping with our mission statement of finding "obscure diamonds in the rough", the following article summed up our travel observations of the past 3 months. Just click on the image below to enlarge and make it readable.

I'd like to know how you feel. Is this the way you perceive America today? Just leave a comment. I'm just curious what you think, and hear your thoughts; pro or con.

Until next time, take care and stay well.....................

  1. Except for a couple of small issues, I think I could have written that. To put it another way, we have gone to Hell in a hand-basket. Our dollar, once the World's standard, is shrinking every day. I believe now, more than ever, in the ideology of that great american...Teddy Roosevelt. America, right or wrong, is still the greatest. We need to stop being the World's police and take care of our own problems.

  2. I would agree 100% with The words Ken Huber put down and I might add I see this country as a Republic that has changed to a Democracy. Just after the completion and signing of the Constitution, in reply to a woman's inquiry as to the type of government the Founders had created, Benjamin Franklin said, "A Republic, if you can keep it." Not only have we failed to keep it, most don't even know the difference between the two.

  3. Good point Anonymous. They don't teach it in school anymore, for reasons only they can justify.

  4. i believe the land of the free and home of the brave is still here... we really aren't any different than we were at any other time in history; we simply have more distractions and more useless information to filter through...
